Samsung shouldn't get too happy with the results just yet. The iPad mini is just out and will cause a large spike among the Apple lovers yet. That's good, as it's all about choice, not one platform wining over the other, but each competing against each other to give the conusmer a better product, innovation, and again give us that all important, 'choice'.
Samsung's mobile sales are through the roof thanks in part to arguably the best mobile phone on the market today, the Samsung Galaxy S3, so plenty of reasons to celebrate.
However, Samsung need that rebranding they have promised us now they are so large, and must improve their tablet hardware; 3Mp camera's in thier flagship tablet, and no generic USB charging is poor show. Best leave the software to Google and stop the 'added value' crapware they continually add to their devices ('s-planner' as your Google calendar? No thanks). All this would help in what is taking forever to update to the latest versions of Android across thier fleet.
Apple have no reason to be smug either. Mapplegate hurt them bad, as did antennagate, not to mention another adaptor recently, and on the list goes.
So in short no platform is perfect, and being objective, clearly both tablets have good and bad aspects. However what a great time to be in this space, and fantatsic to see choice is winning as it does, eventually. Every.Single.Time.
