I'm male so I'm supposed to obsess about cars right? Wrong.
Nothing bores me more as a geek. Well, apart from sport.
Cars are to me just over priced, cash guzzling, lumps of metal that I just don't care about. I live in a city with excellent public transport (to me anyway) and eco-friendly hire cars and bikes, so car advertising just does zero for me.
Add in some of the most boring advertising cliches used in car adverts; people zipping along empty roads, plugging in iDevices, with perfect life's and deserted city streets, long lingering shots of well lit, polished to death vehicles and ..well... you get the drift. Bo-ring!
So I always turn off whenever car adverts appear (apart from this classic), but when car adverts choose to use chickens, and funky 70's tunes? I guess I pay attention.
