Adobe for years has never been within the price reach of many, not helped by their silly overseas price hikes. I know many friends who code who have long ago ditched Dreamweaver and went with free or low cost solutions. I'm also seeing more dropping Photoshop and Flash as the cost is just too prohibitive, and all roads are leading to HTML 5, CSS3 and a more open platform.
So with the new free (yes free) software like Google's new Web Designer Tool, why pay silly prices? Written by people who believe in good code, this is, in the brief time I've played with it since launch, pretty stunning stuff. And your content is able to work on just about any device.
Creating ads is even easier with the ability to output straight to Doubleclick studio and more. It packs in 3D authoring and illustration tools too. Oh yeah, and again...free.
